Our History
Noah’s Ark is one of the first Animal Protection Associations to appear in Spain. We have been fighting for them for 15 years.
Everything came about with a ceded ground, with a lot of desire and a lot of hope.
With volunteer hands and donated funds, our Refuge was built. Initially, everything was shortcomings, but over time and with more and more collaborators and volunteers, the conditions were improved, and many animals managed to be happy.
To our misfortune, in February 2006, who gave us only 3 days for the eviction, the machines entered our Refuge, throwing away efforts and illusions. For many, and especially for animals, these were the worst days of our lives.
Our Present
How do we work now that we do not have our own facilities?
We keep the animals in a shelter (rented), just outside our city, and foster homes. This entails an important level of work since we must go at least once a day, or perhaps more if we need to take an animal to the veterinarian or with his family, but we are encouraged to know that little by little we are building a place where they can have a dignified life and be happy until we find for them a real home.
We are volunteers and do not charge money. We give our time and our money to them; in general more than we have. We are few, and many tasks to be done.
Where does the money come from?
A person or entity may want to collaborate with us punctually by making donations. You can also, from $10 per month, be a Collaborator of the Association or sponsor an animal.
